TRILOGIA del DESIDERIO

The definition of desire is any movement "towards": towards any other than here and now, away from the pure reality of the body as a "simple or realistic body" and against any idea of performance as a dry presentation of a concept. In fact the Trilogia is mainly hymn to the vitality of human condition and specifically to the feminine potential, the movement and the capacity of a creation act and an exploration of the fertile dialogue between obscure and light, mystery of (viscera) and emotion of the flight.

Trilogia del Desiderio is about femininity and the sacred. The triad incorporates a study of the complexity of the female world where rationality, emotions, essentiality and intuition draw an articulated dynamic. This gives birth to a body, which is full, rich, powerful, energetic and raw, but also subtle, intelligent, ironic, struggling, elegant and spiritual.

Reviews:

“…in a choreography full of grace and at the same time charged of sensuality. A performance strongly emotional and double: solemn and sacred and materic at the same time. Wonderfully supported by the music both aerial and mysterious from the guitarist Simone Giacomini''

Massimo Gradia, PIM spazio scenico, March 2009, Milano (Italy)

“(…) then comes Gabriella Maiorino with Kunikuli and Underground, the 2nd and 3rd part of Trilogia del Desiderio.

Maiorino researches and illuminates in her Trilogy the complexity of the feminine world.

Dancers Cristina Leitão and Valentina Campora, embody in their three short detached fragments, the strong, androgynous woman, with millimetre hair, unisex white tops and jeans.

On the other hand, Underground is an intriguing solo for Marlene Vilhena (…). Simultaneously girly and tempting, leading the observer into her one woman show. A top entertainer who does her best to please her audience, treating them an intimate When Harry met Sally-orgasm, followed by sweet compliments (…). In the end she takes it all back(...). But where does the performer end and the real woman start?”

Bregtje Schudel, Het Parool, 3 July 2009 (NL)
