Dancers in the Rijksmuseum

In the Rijksmuseum the visitor was pleasantly surprised by the dance performance of choreographer Gabriella Maiorino. Maiorino combines the soft and organic of modern dance with the rough staccato like quality of street- and breakdance. What started as an intimate duet in the upper Mondriaan hall, became a journey in which increasingly bigger and majestic rooms seemed to be conquered by an increasing collective of dancers. It was exciting to see how the dancers made use of the public space of the museum and how their moving bodies were related to the stationary art.
